Pope appoints Fr. Flavio Cavallini as Apostolic Administrator of Southern Albania

The Holy Father has appointed Fr. Flavio Cavallini, O.F.M., as apostolic administrator of Southern Albania, without episcopal rank.

Until now, he has served as parish priest of Saint Anthony in Tirana.

Fr. Cavallini was born on 12 August 1957 in Verona. He studied philosophy and theology at the San Bernardino Inter-Provincial Theological Studium in Verona and later continued his formation in Jerusalem, where he obtained a licentiate in biblical theology.

He was ordained a priest on 16 June 1984.

His previous roles include vicar general of the Diocese of Pult (1993–1995), provincial minister (1995–2004), parish priest of Blessed Virgin Mary of the Rosary in Shköder (2000–2001), parish priest of Blessed Virgin Mary of the Annunciation in Kodër Marlekaj, Lezhë (2004–2016), and episcopal chancellor in Lezhë (2007).
