The Catholic Organisation for Social and Religious Advancement (COSRA) has inaugurated its 248th branch in Ghana at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Oyibi.
The branch is also the 61st COSRA branch in the Archdiocese of Accra. The inauguration Mass, held on June 14, brought together national and archdiocesan executives as well as well-wishers.
Reflecting on growth, vocation, and service within the Church in his homily, Rev. Fr. Bernard Asomaning Manu, CSJ, described the day as significant for the new branch and expressed gratitude for the establishment of COSRA in the parish.

“We have journeyed so long to have this society of COSRA in our midst. And today is a new day that the Lord has made, that we are inaugurating this society today,”he said.
Fr. Manu centred his reflection on the call of every Christian to discover and use their God-given gifts in service of others.
Using the Gospel theme of labourers in the vineyard, he encouraged members to commit themselves to active service in the Church. Saying that, “The harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are few.”
He urged the faithful to respond generously to God’s call, stressing selfless service.

Fr. Manu emphasised that COSRA members are called to be active participants in the Church’s mission, rooted in their baptismal vocation.
Presenting the new members for consecration and inauguration, the Accra Archdiocesan president of COSRA Bro Prosper Narteh-Agbeyome described the new members are well prepared and ready for the task.

She noted that the addition of the new branch reflects COSRA’s expanding presence across the country and encouraged more Catholics, especially those not yet affiliated with any group, to join the organisation and support its mission of service in the Church.
“Today, the national COSRA family is filled with joy because we have a new baby. St. Charles Borromeo branch of COSRA today adds up to our 248th branch in Ghana. Members of St. Charles Borromeo Rectorate who are not attached to any group, the gospel today speaks to you. Join us to help do God’s work. All you need is to be a baptised Catholic and 18 years and above. To members of the newly inaugurated branch, let your lives be a shining star that attracts members to our fold.”
She further urged members of the newly inaugurated branch to live exemplary Christian lives that would inspire others to join COSRA and actively participate in its apostolate within the Church.
The newly inaugurated branch has elected interim executives who will serve for a two-year term pending formal confirmation. The executive body include, Bro Emmanuel Mawuli Yebbi – President, Bro Stephen Tembendann – Vice President, Bro Vincent De Paul Kwame Nyarko – Secretary, Sis Viviane Yeboah – Financial Secretary, Sis Adoboe Deborah Afi – Organiser, Bro Ambrose Sarfo-Peprah – Co-opted Executive, Sis Ann Appeadu-Mensah – Co-opted Executive
