Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Ho, Ghana, Most Rev. Emmanuel Kwofi Fianu, SVD has extended heartfelt gratitude to all who contributed to the realization of the construction of a Presbytery in Peki-Adzokoe while urging indigenes from the area who reside elsewhere to remember their roots and support the development of their home parishes.
Speaking in an interview with Catholic Trends after the blessing and handing over ceremonies of a new Presbytery for Peki-Adzakoe on May 18, Bishop Fianu emphasized the importance of charitable giving and communal support. He expressed gratitude for the assistance rendered by donors through Fr. Jerry Manomey, for the completion of the Presbytery project.
“Having come to the end of the blessing and handing over of this Presbytery, it is appropriate to appreciate those who contributed to its realisation. We have the plaques behind me indicating the various people who helped through Fr. Jerry so that this Presbytery can be constructed. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of them and ask for God’s blessings on them. May God reward their generosity and may we also learn through their generosity to be generous to others” the Bishop said.
The Prelate called on sons and daughters from the Peki areas especially not to forget their origins and to extend a helping hand to their home communities.
“It is on this note that I appeal to indgenes from Adzokoe and Peki area who are outside home that they shouldn’t forget about home. That they should turn a charitable eye towards the communities here to help because knowing that the communities themselves are not capable of taking care of all their needs because of their economic situation. Most of them are peasant farmers,” the Bishop said.
“It is the assistance of indigenes from this area that can help grow the Church and also grow the Church’s infrastructure,”Bishop Fianu, stressed.
