Ho Diocese: Bishop Fianu announces 2026 priestly appointments, transfers

The Catholic Bishop of Ho Diocese, Most Rev. Emmanuel Kofi Fianu, SVD, has announced a number of priestly appointments and transfers for 2026 as part of efforts to strengthen pastoral administration and ministry within the Diocese.

The appointments, made after consultation with the College of Consultors, cover diocesan offices, parish assignments, chaplaincies, associate priestly roles, first appointments and residence arrangements.

Under the new arrangements, Rev. Fr. Edmund Elorm Ackuaku has been appointed Chaplain of Rijnbeek Catholic Academy, Have, while Rev. Fr. Jude Tachie becomes Associate Priest at Saints Peter and Paul Parish, Anfoega.

Rev. Fr. Richard Teku has been assigned as Assistant Director of the Department of Social Communications and will also serve as Parish Priest of St. Francis Catholic Church, Ho Kpevele.

Rev. Msgr. Clémence Ashiara has been appointed Director of the Department of Pastoral Care, while Rev. Fr. Richard Baswua-Xatse becomes Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies and Chaplain of OLA Senior High School, Ho.

Rev. Fr. Akoto Francis has been appointed Director of Ecumenism and will also serve as Priest-in-Charge of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Hohoe. Rev. Fr. Gabriel Happy Akabo has been assigned as Director of Inter-Religious Dialogue, while Rev. Fr. Benyuenah Isaac becomes Coordinator of the Biblical Apostolate.

Rev. Fr. John Winfred Bosso has been appointed Chaplain for the Sisters of Mary Mother of the Church (SMMC) and Mater Ecclesiae School, Sokode.

In the area of chaplaincy, Rev. Fr. Edmund Noah Mensah has been appointed Chaplain of the Association of Catholic Teacher Trainees (ACTT). He will also serve as Associate Priest at St. Augustine Parish, Hohoe.

At St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Ho Dome, Rev. Fr. Anthony Azah has been appointed Parish Priest, with Rev. Fr. Torwoe Mark serving as Associate Priest.

Rev. Fr. Sekpe Samuel Sebastian has been appointed Priest-in-Charge of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Kpando, while Rev. Fr. Eric Kplorla Dagbui becomes Parish Priest of St. Raphael Quasi Parish, Kpando Dzoanti.

Rev. Fr. Anthony Dotsey has been appointed Parish Priest of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Sovie, and Chaplain of SOVTECH, while Rev. Fr. Edbert Doh becomes Parish Priest of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Taviefe.

Rev. Fr. Samuel Kornu has been appointed Priest-in-Charge of St. Andrew Catholic Church, Ziope, while Rev. Fr. Rudolf Tsekpo becomes Priest in Charge at St. Mary Catholic Church, Likpe Abrani.

Rev. Fr. Tsekpokumah Michael Wonders has been assigned to St. Anthony Catholic Church, Kpedze. Rev. Fr. James Konings Kwaku Quashie has also been appointed Associate Priest at St. Augustine Parish, Hohoe.

Rev. Fr. Afanou Firmin, CSSR, has been appointed Associate Priest at Christ the King Parish, Ho, while Rev. Fr. Patrick Delali Attah has been assigned as Priest-in-Residence at Saints Peter and Paul Parish, Anfoega.

The appointments form part of the Diocese’s continuing pastoral reorganisation aimed at strengthening evangelisation, sacramental ministry, pastoral care and administrative effectiveness across parishes, schools and other Catholic institutions.
